Biography
Dr Huib Buyck obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at the University of Otago. He commenced Haematology training in Wellington before moving to London to compete his specialist training. Whilst there, he worked in a number of prestigious London teaching hospitals including the Royal Free Hospital, Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital and St Georges Hospital, where he worked as a Haematology consultant, before returning to New Zealand in 2010.
He is currently the Clinical Leader for Haematology at the Wellington Blood and Cancer Centre as well as Director of Haemophilia and Chair of the Lymphoma MDM and believes in a personalised approach to healthcare with an emphasis on open and clear communication.
Dr Buyck accepts referrals from all specialists and general practitioners for the diagnosis and management of all blood cancers and disorders, with a special clinical interest in lymphoma, myeloma, acute and chronic leukaemia, haemostatis and thrombosis (bleeding and clotting disorders).
